Little known in his native Japan, A.Mochi has quietly built a formidable reputation in the global techno underground. His sound — heavy, sub-bass driven, unapologetically hard — has earned him titles like "Heavy Tank," "Sub-bass Master," and "Hard Techno Maestro." He has released more than 40 twelve-inches, remixes included, on some of the scene's most respected labels: Len Faki's Figure and Figure SPC, Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver, Francois K.'s WaveTec, Sven Väth's Cocoon, Christian Smith's Tronic, System 7's A-Wave, Dubfire's SCI+TEC, and Boys Noize's imprint. Over the years, he has earned the trust of some of the most influential labels in the business. Five of his tracks have landed in Beatport's techno Top 10. Among them, "Squeal 3," released on Figure in 2013, prompted Laurent Garnier to declare he'd keep it in his record box forever — a track that has stayed in heavy rotation ever since. In 2010, he released his debut album, Primordial-Soup, on Figure. In 2013, he remixed Dave Clarke's timeless techno classic "Wisdom To The Wise (Red2)," released via Boys Noize's label. Bootleg re-edits he has produced for his own DJ sets have made their way into the hands of prominent European DJs and are played in festival sets across the continent. He has also contributed a mix to Chris Liebing's CLR Podcast, steadily carving out a name for himself in the international techno scene. In Japan, he has played WIRE Festival — organized by Takkyu Ishino — along with clubs and festivals across the country. In 2010, he embarked on his first European tour, playing Berghain in Berlin as well as dates in France and Switzerland. In the years since, he has returned to the Netherlands' Solar Weekend Festival and played Berghain a second time, while also performing in Los Angeles, Beijing, Taiwan, and elsewhere across Asia. Outside of techno, he has produced music and sound design for an event fusing Kyogen theater with projection mapping. In 2019, he launched his own label, Scott Tiger/Scttgr, releasing music on vinyl. Little known at home, but a name that carries real weight abroad — A.Mochi is a Japanese producer capable of shaking dancefloors around the world with his heavyweight techno. It's a name worth remembering.

日本ではその名を知る者こそ少ないが、海外テクノシーンにおいてはその実力と実績で確固たる地位を築いてきたアーティスト。そのHeavy Technoと呼ぶべき重量感のあるサウンドは、重戦車、サブベースマスター、ハード・テクノ・マエストロと称されている。 Len FakiのFigure、Figure SPCをはじめ、Luke SlaterのMote-Evolver、Francois K.のWaveTec、Sven VathのCocoon、Christian SmithのTronic、System7のA-Wave、DubfireのSCI+TECやBoysNoizeといった著名レーベルより、リミックスも含め40枚以上の12インチをリリース。海外の主要レーベルからは厚い信頼を得てきた。 これまでBeatportのテクノチャートTop10に5曲ランクインしており、2013年にFigureからリリースしたSqueal 3は、ロラン・ガルニエから「永遠にレコードボックスに入れる」とまで言わしめ、長年に渡ってヘビープレイされている。 2010年にはファーストアルバム『Primordial-Soup』をFigureよりリリース。2013年には不朽のテクノ・クラシックDave Clarkeの「Wisdom To The Wise(Red2)」のリミックスを手掛けBoys Noizeのレーベルからリリースされたほか、自身のDJセット用に制作したリエディットがブートレグとしてヨーロッパの著名DJに渡り、フェスティバル等でプレイされている。またChris LiebingのレーベルCLRのポッドキャストにミックスを提供するなど、海外テクノシーンへは着実に足跡を残してきた。 国内では石野卓球がオーガナイズするWIREや各地のクラブ・フェスティバルへの出演にとどまるが、2010年にはベルリンのBerghainをはじめフランス、スイス等へ初のヨーロッパツアーを敢行。翌年以降もオランダのSolar Weekend FestivalやBerghainへの2度目の出演を果たし、ロサンゼルス、北京、台湾など、アジアを含む海外での活動を精力的に続けている。 テクノ以外の分野では、狂言とプロジェクションマッピングの融合イベントで音楽・音響効果の制作、プロデュースを担当。2019年には自身のレーベルScott Tiger/Scttgrをローンチし、ヴァイナルのリリースも行っている。 日本ではその名を知る者こそ少ない。しかし、その重量級テクノで世界のシーンを確かに揺さぶってきた日本人プロデューサー、A.Mochi。この名前を覚えておいて、損はないだろう。
